Just as long as they stick with them

Everyone knows we're short of batsmen, but chopping and changing won't cure anything and if we can avoid putting the likes of Redmond and Flynn under undue pressure, they might grow into the roles. Redmond looks a little lost at the moment, but opening is a bloody hard job to just drop in to. Southee is another one who could be the business in a couple of years, but in the mean time the management really look like taking care of him, which is great to see. If they can allow him the space to develop, he'll be our No 1 new-ball bowler for the next 10-15 years.

Two Metre Peter might be worth a go either opening or at 3 (Allowing Redmond to move to first drop) in place of James Marshall.
