It's just so predictable

It's not that any of them are bad men per se, it's just that no matter how much effort they put in, they're not really particularly good. James Marshall, Iain O'Brien? Good grief.

Taylor has the skills, but unfortunately he appears to be a bit thick. Mills is a trier, but never really up to international level (No matter how good England's batsmen try to make him look). Ryder is a lardy boofhead. McCullum is a good bat on his day, but he shouldn't be expected to have to pull us out of the fire every time. He's first and foremost an excellent pair of hands behind the stumps (Something maybe the Poms could learn from!) and anything else is a bonus.

With any luck, the selectors might persist with some of the better ones, because there really isn't much else. I have always rated James Franklin, but for some reason he's never really made the grade.
