Computer games

I know MoralMajority is only trolling, but it has got me thinking a bit.

I don't really LIKE my children playing them, because my own experience is that they are highly addictive and can distort a healthy life balance. I also think that they do relatively little to develop your mind or social skills (though this varies from game to game).

But it would be crazy to BAN my children from playing them, to my mind, because it would utterly isolate them from the culture in which they live, and it would deprive them of whole bucket-loads of fun. Some of the Wii games, for example, are absolutely brilliant entertainment.

So my compromise is to allow computer gaming within boundaries - so stick to the age certificate (within a year or so) and have time limits.

And I mst admit that I find the whole idea of GTA pretty repellent, real lowest common denominator stuff from what I know about it (which isn't much, I admit).
