I've never been big on fancy equipment

but yes get yourself some decent shoes. If you are starting out would recommend cavity backed irons rather than blades. Once you get into the swing of things probably a good idea to get one of these big new drivers as they have a huge sweet spot these days!

Most proper clubs will have a dress policy. Basically no jeans or tee-shirts is the main rule and no swimming trunks/bermuda shorts in the summer. Some insist you wear long socks with shorts.

Other than that most of the ones round Norwich are not too bad when it comes to dress.

Costessey Park is the one club i've not really played at much round Norwich but would presumably also be quite convenient for you.
