The "Football Is Dead" Debate

I suspect what people are saying is that it (football) is "dead" for them.

In that the expansion of, and continuing prosperity of ther Premoier League makes it all the more unlikely their club will reach it, and, as and if they do, highly unlikely, a'la Derby and many others (and, looking at Derby, we made a bloody good go of it) will not even make the smallest impression on the Premiership-which is surely destined to become a "closed shop"-if and when they do reach it.

You could once dream of your club having a go and being up there. Wimbledon did, we did, Ipswich did, Watford did-but those days are far and long gone. Even the "Big Four" looks destined to become the "Big Three" with Liverpool in debt (Christ knows what will happen to them if they fail to quailify for the Champs League this season-though if they don't, they'll probably appeal and get in on some technicality) and struggling to keep up.

The CCC could be THE league in time, lets hope so.
