treat used and even NEW car salesmen with the trustworthyness of a taxman or politician!
my mum has recently brought a second hand ford Ka for about £5000 - - i think she paid too much for a lower model, anyway..... the gas struts on the boot are leaking gas and eventually they wont hold up the boot lid....... So when back in Norwich, a week after she bought the car, we drove in it back to the garage, spoke to the manager and told him of my concern and asked the garage if they'd order in and replace the gas struts........ would cost them about £30.
He denied there was anything wrong with the gas struts and went on to sporut some bollocks about how they work.
I let him finish and try to convince me he was right before pointing out to him that I am UK business manager in charge of thoise particular range of gas struts for my company in the uk and had just returned from an Advanced Gas Strut desogn course at the very same factory the struts on the car had been made.........
he agreed to change the struts!
