test drive.......

how smooth are the gear changes, how smooth and efficient is the acceleration, any rattles, any screeching sounds or any unusual sounds that dont sound right? test the tracking by driving in straight line and take hands of wheel - does the car veer to one side? look at the tyres........is each one evenly worn, not just done one side of the tyre?

sounds like you should take someone with you who knows a bit about cars to look at it.....
