...I think it is extremely low over there. I pay 36% on the basic rate and 48% over a certain amount, and while I do earn a good wage I am not a super-earner!However, I have friends in the UK earning considerably more than I do but with far less spare cash without having considerably ore financial commitments. I can only imagine that a huge drain on income are the stealth taxes. You can keep income tax as it is, but remove all the stealth taxes.
