players have so much power in the current game that manager's often find themselves having to sell players they don't want to. The clause is irrelevant - I'm not aware that Ashton had one, or Francis. But they wanted to go and there ain't much you can do.

The available money issue is a confusing one - we still don't know for sure whether it wasn't made available, or was and Grant didn't spend it.
