He taught English in Lyon for two or three years: found it very tough at first, but as he picked up the language, so he found himself liking the place more and more. Plus, it was my unfortunate experience to be beside a tanked up English stag group at Gare du Nord when I was last in Paris: their sheer obnoxiousness was a total embarrassment, frankly.
