I disagree.

The French are more than happy to welcome the Brits here, as long as the Brits are willing to integrate and at least try and speak the language. If they want to stay in their little cliques and speak nothing but English (and believe you me, there's a hell of a lot of that), then the French will despise them, as will the other ex-pats, to be fair.

I think your example more proves that both countries have their fair share of idiots.
