Right, I've been meaning to say something like this for a while ...

... and sorry for posting this Pants, but I have tried to tell you:

Pants took a lot of flak for commenting on Norwich City games without going to watch them. So what he thought people were getting annoyed with was purely the fact that he didn't go to games, when it was actually more complex than that.

My take is that people get annoyed because he shows so little respect to the opinion of anyone who disagrees with him - he takes his fixed position and often seemingly refuses to even acknowledge any counter-argument. Which is incredibly antagonistic.

Nobody would have any issues with the number of games he did or didn't attend if it wasn't for the aggression with which he argues. The reason why he gets more flak when he doesn't go to games is because it makes the manner in which he often asserts his opinions even more offensive because the other person has a) made the effort to attend and b) is obviously far better qualified to comment on the game.
