But, if football is going to eat itself because all the big money flows to the already rich then, perhaps, in a Keynesian way, they *should* redistribute more equitably.

I suspect Sky and the FA have long thought that there are far too many pro clubs to support anyway and they wish 50 or so would just die, so they could have, say, two divisions of 16-18 each. Or just a European league and f**k the other 86 clubs (and the hundreds more in the rest of Europe).
