Analysts always get the future wrong with mobile devices

It seems to me that the problem is that while they can let their imaginations run riot over all the things one can potentially do, the form factor (ie. small screen) is the limiter. As that article points out, most people just want to make phone calls and text their mates with silly, poor quality, disposable photos. My mate has a blackberry, but doesn't use it much and when he phones me on it, the sound quality is s**t. People want their porn on HD 50" plasma not a 3" wide screen.

Regarding coverage, I guess that's why Apple have signed up with Cingular (AT&T), the biggest provider in the US.
