are you seriously suggesting that Doncaster was lying when he said that Cotterill had actually signed the contract with us, and then somehow convinced Bristol (Rovers or City i forget which) and the player himself to back up his story in the press?!
and if so, why would they do that?
as for leaving it so late, i don't know, maybe there really were lots of enquiries being made but the management/directors weren't getting the answers they liked
as for working for free, well surely the difference between your 'calculated figure' of ?1.3m and Worthy's actual pay off of ?600,000 is the salary that he would've been owed if we'd sacked him 11 months earlier?
unless of course he's worked for free for the last 11 months...
