All of the covers above that have been mentioned are good
as covers go, but how many are truly beter than the original?
If a lot of people here the "cover" many times and really like it before they eventually here the original, they tend to prefer the cover which is only natural, however, it does not make the cover better than the original.
Also some songs age better than others, some "originals" may have been groundbreaking at the time but may now sound a little dated, therefore the cover seems to sound better. It is easy to forget that the timing and era of these original releases were occasionally disadvantaged compared to the advanced recording techniques and other technology which are available when recording the cover.
