after an afternoon of running bench testing on the well pump the results are promising
initial tests showed a flow rate of a whopping 47 litres of water a minute which is far too much, so i choked her down to 15 litres a minute and now i've got a watering capacity that is comfortably over 40 minutes before the well needs to rest and regen itself which it does within an hour.
