I never said we WOULDN'T do well

I said we PROBABLY wouldn't, which was always true. I always said we could do well if everyone was fit and playing at the top of their game.

Neither of those things happened - our only 2 world class strikers weren't fit and our supposed world-class midfielders (Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham) hopelessly underperformed. That being the case we had no real chance and deserved to go home when we did.
