I went to some control room training about 8 years ago

I left after day 2 of 3.
Seemed interesting but, the overload of responsibility on those is so overwhelming out of touch with the wage (21k at the time).

Various police powers are given to them and they are expected to make decisions they really shouldn't be in a position to make.

It reminded me of people assume teachers should sort out every single issue
