And even then It was Major from Thatcher and there is an argument that her polling was on the rise when they pulled the trigger.

Its pointless, or largely pointless, certainly for Streeting.
Could Burnham generate a more sensible Corybn type support? Not sure about that at all, and even then it wasn't enough to actually win enough seats.

No real skin in the game but unless they have done some real forensic analysis in to the voting data, and what demographics Burnham can win back, why bother?

Hang tight, Try and keep doing reasonably sensible things, hope the world economy picks up, and that reform keep slipping back in their vote share as they make messes locally and who knows.
