The problem is not the formation, its the players he picks to play in it

English players, do tend to play better in a 442, they know the system! At Euro 2004, Sven wouldnt dare drop Scholes/Lampard, Gerrard so he lumped one of them on the left wing, it didnt work we were out!

This year, he wanted to play Gerrard, Lampard & Hargreaves all in teh same team so tried 451, which i dont think works as it left Rooney isolated and frustrated. If Sven had some bollocks he would have played Gerrard & Hargreaves in centre mid and dropped Lampard. But he was far to scared to make a brave decision so shuffled things around to accomodate his babies.

The thing which annoys me the most about this is teh same problem England have had for years and iwhy in my opinion we NEVER win f**k all! Our players are picked on reputation and not form.
