and, wait a minute, it didn't work.

We played better on Saturday than we did during our exits from either of those two tournaments.

So maybe 4-5-1 IS the best use of a rather limited bunch of players?

We needed everbody fit to stand a chance because our talent pool is very shallow. Once Owen and Rooney went in far from fully fit we had no real chance and no formation or mananger would have saved us.
