I think I was very underwhelmed by the appointment
But gave him the benefit of the doubt for a while.
This is the odd pattern I've seen in the Webber/Knapper eras. We have a plan, and a vision. We hired a manager that fits it, and then when it inevitably gets to the end game we just s**t the bed and sign managers that don't fit the plan at all - notably Dean Smith and Liam Manning.
I understand Wagner, as no doubt Webber would have trust with him as they did so well together at Huddersfield. I get JHT, although I think it was a gamble, as he fit the profile too except as it turns out I think the experience was the issue.
When I was talking about JHT being replaced by Manning, I missed one out there. Wilshere. He was brought in to be the successor (probably undermining JHT to an extent), and then he was let go in favour of Manning. So sometimes we walk the walk and sometimes we only talk the talk
