having a good engine, workrate etc can make you a national superstar.

Not much use in big tournaments played in summer where you can't run about all day. Technique is essential and we don't have it.

Watching Terry & Ferdinand lumberingly exchanging awkward passes before hoofing hopeful balls forward (every game!) was embarrassing in the extreme.
