I realised how much it meant to me when...

...i was lucky enough to be one of the 2,000 to get back in for the socially distanced game post the covid break.

Just seeing the team come out and warm up and take my mind off all the s**t that was going on, made me realise how much I need the regular escape from real life. I shed a tear as it was such a relief to have some normality.

It took me back to when I was at uni. On a Saturday morning, however hungover I was or wasn't, I got a bus from UEA campus into the city, wandered around the record fair upstairs in Guildhall looking for Stone Roses bootlegs, bought some lunch and a paper and wandered over to Carrow Road for opening of the turnstiles.

I didn't care that I was first in, and sat in The Barclay on my own. That was the point. I spent 90 minutes, browsing the paper, eating my lunch and watching the ground fill up.

It's my escape, even tho I go with wife and kids these days. It's now our collective escape.
