To be totally honest
after a busy weekend and not sleeping well Sunday night I wasn't that keen to go to last nights match. All my kids are at home currently so I thought we could all watch it together on the telly. The deciding factor would be my youngest. We sit next to each other at CR and as he plays football on Saturdays he can't get to every game. My plan when I got home from work was to ask him whether he would prefer to watch the match at home or was he keen to do the trek to CR?
When he got home from his collage course he was adamant that he wanted to go so our decision was made, we were going to the game. All I could vision was that walk up the steep hill at 10pm after a possible defeat to the league leader but deep down I was keen.
The reason I'm writing this is because we obviously had the best time, the atmosphere was electric, the game was enthralling but more importantly is the interactions we had with each other and lots of other people. We chatted to people we knew on the walk to CR, we discussed everything NCFC with loads of people around where we sit, we hugged and danced with all the people around us when we bagged the 2nd and we cheered and sang our hearts out. We both stayed in our seats to watch the team do their thing in front of the Barclay before climbing up that hill.
We got back home just as the radio Norfolk coverage finished as 10:30pm, I was exhausted but I felt so alive. These nights for all football supporters are really special, there is nothing like watching your team pull off a good battling win under the lights against a team top of the league with family and friends.
clement is at the wheel and he's steering us to big things, I can't wait for the journey, I can't wait to see where he takes us.
