It has happened to us before

In Nov 1987 we had 11 pts from 15 games when Brown was sacked, and Stringer got 25 pts from the next 15.

The last 20 Lge games of 1991/2 saw us get 15 pts and in genuine danger of relegation. The first 20 games of the Walker era acquired 39 pts.

Both those were quality squads that had reached the end of the Managerial journey, and only slight tweaks of playing staff were needed to turn the ship around.

This current squad - though expensively assembled - was likely finding its feet under JHT and Manning, and PC has found a way to better harness their potential.
