Hoover ....
is an commonly acceptable term for a vacuum cleaner in the UK
Hoover is one of those words that is accepted as generic term for a vacuum cleaner along with coke , can mean many other soft drinks normally dark in colour ,or Kleenex can mean any brand of tissue and to google something means to use any search engine to look for something on line
