Thoughts
Jurasek is building slowly. From a very low base (not even fit enough to play) to where he is now. But he is continuing to grow. Key contribution vs qpr, first goal yesterday to change the nature of the game. It’s a lot better, even if it’s not peak Eadie. And there are still times when he seems out of position, takes a safe pointless pass when there’s more on. Just needs to keep going, and we’ll see what more he’s got.
Cordoba looked very good, and might well be one of our two best. But let’s see. Just back from injury, and was up against limited opposition. But I liked what I saw.
The Garden didn’t quite have the impact we might have hoped for, but he’s barely had minutes and looked like a player not tuned in to the rest of the squad or patterns of play. But to me he looked like he offered something different to our other striker options. He looked to me like he has pace, and made a number of runs in behind that nobody saw or hit. A bit more Pukki style than our other options. Feels to me like there will be games that suit him, and although I doubt he starts, a great option off the bench.
I thought Wright was good on the ball playing deeper. Very good. But will need to see him do that against better opposition. But felt like yesterday gave us a glimpse of what we might expect once Kenneth hangs up his boots.
Slimane did okay, but I don’t see him as a starting no 10 for a championship team pushing for promotion. Sounds like the club agrees too, given the mood music around key targets.
Once people are fit, feels like we’re suddenly going to have lots of good options out wide.
Love The Tony Springett.
Tatty bye Sarge. Let him go. But we would need another body and that will be hard in this window. Maybe a Jordan Rhodes type loan to give cover and an option?
Makama really looks like he’s got something. A hat trick out of position from the left wing, sheesh. We’d better put a good team around quick, because the way he’s going he’ll get a lot of offers sooner than wed like.
We really need to hoover up some points and get out of the relegation soon. (I mean, duh.)
