xG doesn't predict outcomes but when used with other statistics/metrics it can be an

indicator of current system performance. Such metrics can help identify where problems exist and when changes are made then by tracking the same metric whether the actions taken have produced the desired result.

I appreciate you're coming from a sports betting perspective but in my view that's not how clubs use these metrics, well I hope not.
