A good few years ago I did a recording session with a couple of session horn players

They'd both played on s**tloads of stuff in the 80s when brass was huge in pop and had some stories. The trumpet player played on the Katrina and the Waves smash hit Walking on Sunshine - he was brought in to do a trumpet solo and just ad-libbed some stuff and walked off with his £250 session fee. They ended up taking one of his improvised riffs and turned it into the main hook of the song, and the record sold millions. Said he briefly considered making a claim but said it would be career suicide as no-one would ever hire him again. Apparently you just don't do that as a session musician.

Cool story huh?

No?

Well what if I told you he recounted this tale in a broad Norfolk accent and was wearing shorts and calf length socks with OTBC on them?
