I think I read somewhere that Herbie

himself came up with that double bass/electric bass duel bassline. Not Lou Reed's idea to do that. Herbie was never credited on the song, so only received a payment for work on the day as a session musician. The song would've been nothing without that bassline.
Lou Reed should've credited him.
