More generally though, there is a lot to say....

I decided to take a week away from the board to detox, as the place had started to become uninhabitable. Every single day, someone would start a fresh culture wars topic, claim they were aiming to provoke a lively debate, and then immediately launch into offensive abuse when anyone chose to disagree. In case these people - and you know who you are - were not aware, that is not debate, its starting a fight and hurling abuse. And its stinking the board out.

Worst offender - by a mile - Disco. I honestly wonder what you need to do to a person to turn them into someone as evidently unpleasant as this. Div. Spaz. Spewing hatred at everyone. Every day you come on here under working under the illusion you are some kind of modern day enlightened commentator, but your language and the way you engage with people reveals you to be a childish moron. You say you've been a poster on here for years, but I cant remember you, and frankly, you should just f**k off.

Ben - can you please ban this c**t? I'm all for "free speech", but he's blowing this place up. Sort it out, lad (as Disco would say).

Worse, the presence of Disco has really brought out the worst in a few others. Particularly you GOBB.

GOBB - you've been posting on here for ages and should know f**king better. Dont you have any respect for the people you've been cohabiting on here for years with? Even if you dont see eye to eye with them? Fuck me man, the absolute state of your snidey, rude, condescending culture war posts in recent times. Have a think about how you show up here. And for f**ks sake, grow the f**k up and stop posting Springsteen s**te every f**king day. Are you even capable of thinking what this looks like to every other c**t on here? You absolute f**king gibbon. (as I've said before, the unspeakable irony of someone with your opinions apparently being a Springsteen mega fan - you must have never listened to any of his lyrics, just hummed the tunes.)

On the other hand, I would like to call out JoeyDeacon. Dont get me wrong, he's clearly a right wing blowhard, who probably has pictures of Thatcher hung in the loo (no offense mate - you probably think I've got picture of Angela in my loo). I disagree with him profoundly about all manner of things. But if you approach him with civility, he'll engage, and he'll (mostly) do so in a very civil manner. Yes, he'll try to score points on you, but he'll agree when you point out inconsistencies in what he said, or things that when he re-reads them he finds he doesnt actually mean.

I tip my hat to you JD. Well played for the way you have shown up, when a small number of your fellow right wings have let themselves down on a daily basis. You show that it IS possible to disagree with people without that starting WW3.

Fuck knows if this post will do anything - I'm not sure I care that much. But this place DID used to be lots of fun. Every day I'd come on here and enjoy our collected prattlings, even when we were doing politics. I mean we survived f**king Brexit as a community without it becoming like this. Yes, I know, I could ignore it, but why bother to come here when you're mostly wading through s**t of the kind that has dominated all week? I'm "bothered" or "upset" by what I read, but I'm not getting anything out of it. So why invest time here?

I think i'll take another week off, then pop back to see if anything has changed. In the meantime, can you all please have a word with yourselves?
