Individual ISP's re-sell BT's technology.
If you go and sign up with Wanadoo or PlusNet of suffen for ADSL, the first thing they so is get onto BT to sort out the physical part of the connection.
Well, it might be the second thing they do, after taking some dinero off you.
THat's unless you live on Humberside, where Kingston Telecom do that instead of BT. At least they did, foo yares ago, might not be the case any more.
