Still can't believe they didn't prep Zelensky better. They must have been expecting this sort of attitude from Trump's team surely?

When they baited him about disrespect, he could have slipped in
something about his appreciation at being able to be in the oval office, being where great statesman had faced down Nazi Germany by coming to Europe's aid, faced down Russian aggression in Cuba, won the cold war etc, how theyve got the opportunity here to make a sinilar mark on history. It would have both played into Trump's ego at the opportunity he has (had) and make a great contrast with any pro Russian suck up statements.

Instead they dragged him down to their level, and it let them roll out the pre prepared statements pinning the blame on Ukraine. Gutting.
