I would drop lampard

and play Carrick with Gerrard in the middle myself.

I think Lampard is overrated. yes he scores a few goals and has some efforts on goal but as a midfielder he actually does very little. His attacking attributes tend to get him noticed and earn him the plaudits but i would rather have Gerrard able to push forward from the midfield with a holding player next to him.
