I'd actually prefer..

someone who can back up Crouch (i.e. Beattie/Ashton) rather than another "nippy" type striker like Defoe. Cole or Walcott can replace Owen to a degree but there is no backup whatsoever for Crouch. And we should have had another striker rather than Jenas (what catastrophic combinbation of injuries would it take to see him get on the pitch in a meaningful game?)
