that based on teh evidence provided it "is the opinion of the jury that the defendent did not commit the offences". This is not true - there is a CLEAR difference between saying (whether 'on the evidence provided' or not) that someone cannot be proven guilty and saying you think they didn't do it. That is why the verdict required to be given is "Not Guilty" and not "Innocent". The jury are specifically not required to say that they think a defendant is innocent (or there would be a lot more 'no decision's!), they are only asked to judge whether they believe he/she has been PROVEN guilty or not.
