Well, after peeling away the layers of your uberblub, let me make a point or two

I said you were 'too intelligent' not realise this, so if there is any questioning of your intelligence, it was meant in your favour. I certainly haven't insulted you, I am certainly not irate - but your views on England have been the same for years which is why I question their validity as part of an objective debate.

But likewise you have every right to tell me that's bollocks. So be it. Nevertheless, if you want consistency, I will consistently tell you that you have a permadowner on England. It's just one of your idiosynchrasies. (That's not an insult).

Good on the Czech Republic for doing whatever they want to do, but it can work both ways. I remember England going to Tunisia before Italia 90 and scraping a draw. We were utterly s**t and many questioned the wisdom of such a trip (particularly as we were to play in Europe - as we are now).

We were then awful in the group games, scraped through thanks to a fortuitous win against Egypt and only then picked up some momentum (albeit after being outplayed by Belgium).

But I digress. You question what was served by playing this game and I have already answered that - but will repeat for emphasis. Snooker players, practise for hours, tennis players practise for hours. This was practise, fine tuning, call it what you will.

But it had a very clear purpose and with a squad now heading to Germany in a good mood - including an anxious striker who has scored four in two - I'd say it was worthwhile and continued negativity really does not sit with what took place today.
