That once you get to the semis of a major competition, teams are often separated by a hair's breadth.

Any one of Holland, Czech Rep, Greece or Portugal could have won 2004, France came back in their 98 semi thanks to two goals from their right back, shoot outs can go either way (really, they can).

I can see us getting to the semi-finals and losing by the odd goal to Brazil - and maybe that will be because Brazil have greater belief or better application, but it really could come down to the most minor thing.
