I can't remember him playing up front

of course he might have done in an emergency during a game ,but I can't remember him starting up front front
Unlike Ron Saunders who during one match when in charge home to Everton if I remember correctly ( perhaps some of the older posters might put me right) sent terry Payne on to play center forward ,when he had played his entier professional career at right back ,Ron Saunders was sacked next day
