In the 80s I collected record shop bags and recently found them. Also Garry’s auntie

Collected loads and between the two of us we have most of the city centre ones. I’m going to frame them and used in a window display. The Bridewell museum have said they may be interested in seeing them. Also thinking of printing the designs onto T-shirts.
My first Saturday job was at the HMV upstairs in TopShop. They fired me because money was going missing on the days that I worked. My father wrote a “stiff letter” and they had to reinstate me. It turned out it was one of the full-timers who waited for Saturdays to nick the cash.
Ace Records is on Lower Goat Lane, No19, and has recently been Finnies and is now Ron’s Kitchen, which excellent.
The band I was in was once No1 in the Back’s Records Alternative chart in the Eastern Evening News!
