Our situation is slightly different than most clubs in the champs.
We have a much higher % of ST holders than most clubs so our casual tickets should be in higher demand (supply/ demand)
The apathy will clearly be measured on Saturday by the number of empty seats.
Either from ST holders not wanting to go or casual fans not wanting to buy tickets.
Football is like any other marketplace. The customer will tell you if they want your product or not.
At least this has stopped all the nonsense talk about ground expansion when we don't even have the demand to fill the current ground size.
IMHO the danger with sticking with the current manager regardless of results could be a huge fall off in ST sales next season.
Even in the most popular seasons there is a 5-10% churn rate. This season it could be in the 20% range which would not be easily replaced by new fans if there is little casual demand. This would make casual ticket less desirable. This feeds into a loop, which Ipswich experienced with crowds as low as 10K for some home games during their spiral downwards. Their recent crowds have increased dramatically, proving the demand is there if you produce both a winning team and a product people want to watch.
