i've got one similar to this...
it's got a magnet on the back so it sticks to the bbq when not in use and has a remote wire probe so it can be shoved in the meat and be left outside the bbq.

far better than anything in the shops and much cheaper a little goes a long way
and this lad does bespoke replacement badgers for the handle so you can just ding him any design and he will sort it out for you, comes pre-drilled so just unscrew the makers one and ding it in the skip and pop your own badger on User Posted Link
