turned out it wasn't theft after all the tanker driver pulled the hose and it broke off the glass guage doodah that showed the level and the entire tank spilled into the garden and which resulted in a massive environmental nightmare they had to dig out a massive hole in the ground and demolished an old brick building and it took over a year before the issue was fixed. luckily the cost of all this fell to the oil delivery company. i do think oil thefts will go up so be on your guard ofch user peoples.
