Not sure how useful my suggestions would be as I haven't been for years.
Prebook table, food and beer tokens.
It is on the S bahn so travel not an issue really. Might want to identify location of toilet facilities between wasen and accommodation.
I always stayed in Vaihingen but that's probably not ideal for your trip.
Must do - eat maultaschen. German ravioli.
Go to tübingen. A gorgeous town just south of Stuttgart.
