All they have to do, in fact are doing, is saying the Ukraine nationalists are preventing & killing civillians who are trying to escape, were making plans to develop biological weapons, are trying to create a nuclear accident, are using terrorist tactics against Russian forces, are killing russian speaking civillians, etc etc etc.... those soldiers will be well motivated.
