yes, they use Russian and ex-Soviet aircraft

some NATO countries still fly similar types (Mig29s etc) but they those will have been upgraded to NATO spec so it's not quite as simple as just handing them over to the UkrAF.

No point giving them Western aircraft that they haven't flown before. even if they could learn to fly them quickly enough, the avionics, comms and weaponry wouldn't work with UkrAF systems.

What NATO could do (and I assume are doing) is offering them a limitless supply of the Turkish drones that they use.
