General shrug from me

Depending on your point of view, we got a great player for a season and a half that we didn't have to pay for (except WAGES, heheheh)

or

We developed a player for years, gave him a stage, who then looks like he has stopped trying and is effectively 'on strike' (attending isn't playing).

Truth, as ever, will be between the two, but it looks like a player who was probably worth in the £10-15M bracket in the summer, will now go for a fraction of that. Which is a pity, as, for any club, but particularly one like ours, the extra cash would go towards buying and developing more young talent.

So yeah, a shrug from me, no animosity, but no real sense of wishing him well (playing as he now is, for another team, who got him at a knockdown price...)
