I agree we need a CDM, but have we ever made a good January signing?

Well, ever is an exaggeration, but I'm struggling to think of one since Dean Ashton.

Maybe Jonny Howson? Or Maddison, although my question is really in relation to players that made an immediate, meaningful impact.
